Christmas Surprise

There is such a warm feeling of safety when you hear the soft hum of a family spending Christmas together. This morning I was about to die with excitment over the fact that I had painstakingly picked out a gift for everyone and I was about to show them what I had personally picked out for each one. Will he like it? Was it the right gift?
As I was fidgeting with the couch, I heard a faint voice say, "Kimberly you really need to relax."
My toes were not obeying the order, and about to run off my feet. I heard Dad softly reading the story of Christmas, and was starting to feel like I seriously needed some ritalin. And no, I don't take it.
Suddenly I heard the final mutter of "Amen."
"Here Becks, you can open this one from me."
"Blah blah blah blah blah?" she rambled, slighlty confused that I was not telling her no, once again.
With the help of Rachelle, she was finally able to grasp that this was hers for the taking. A soft babiesh laugh rumbled from her mouth, and she sighed.
"I like," she cooed.
Pictures started snapping and I told Isaiah to go ahead and open his present. When he realized that I got a fun-looking game, he was content to sit in front of the tree.
Jessie was ecstatic over the paper dolls, and quietly absorbed the package, giving me complete satifaction.
My impatience was sky rocketing as Heidi opened her present, knowing that Patrick's present is coming next. Realizing Heidi would love her present, I remembered that I had just spent numberless hours slaving away on Patrick's present.
I ran down to the basement as said, "Patch, you better close your eyes."
Grabbing the huge pine chest, I was about to cry I was so happy.
My mind went to the times I said to myself,'He is going to love this!'
I sighed and carried the monster up the stairs.
"I am not going to be happy if your eyes are open mister," I shouted.
"Kimberly, he is covering his eyes," Jeffery shouted back.
I could feel my feet touch the carpet, and realized my eyes were not working with my feet. Peeking over the chest, I was content to see his eyes were closed. Then I heard myself say, "You can look now."
Opening his eyes, he scaned the room until his eyes fell on the chest.
"Oh, my. I never guessed," he sighed.
A mixture of happiness and love clogged up my emotions, and I felt a sense that I was about to start sobbing.
Finally, I said to him, "I made this so you would know how special you are to me."
I then went on to show him all of the neat prospects of the chest, and was satisfied with several oohs and aahs.
Sitting back in my chair I sighed, then heard someone tell me it was now my turn. I fely my body start to relax, and then smiled at everyone.
